The Muscular Dystrophy Association of NSW

The Muscular Dystrophy Association of NSW (MDANSW) was formed in 1957 to meet the needs of people with Muscular Dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders. It is part of a national network of the Muscular Dystrophy Associations of Australia.

Mission

Our mission is to combat the impact of muscle disorders in our community and to promote the well being of affected people, their families and their carers.

MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION OF NSW

• Assistance with funding for equipment, respite and emergency needs

• Funding for research into the treatment and cure for muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular disorders.

• A Client Services Co-ordinator to provide support, advocacy, assistance with information, and help in accessing services.

• A Carers Co-ordinator to provide assistance to carers in rural and regional NSW and to culturally and linguistically diverse carers.

• Interface with the four major NSW Neuromuscular Clinics at Randwick, Westmead and Concord and other State and international Muscular Dystrophy Associations.

• Four copies a year of our most popular magazine Talking Point

• Seminars and workshops

• Support groups and networks

• Events, including MDANSW sponsored events such as our annual Christmas Party, and free tickets to recreation experiences and entertainment events such as circus and magic shows and sailing days.

Simply print out and complete this Membership Application Form and Photo Consent Form (if appropriate) and return them to:
